Luis Vuitton is a French fashion house, founded in 1854. They are famous for their LV logo and began with Louis Vuitton designed flat-bottomed trunks that were easily stackable. Vuitton’s son made the patents on the signature LV monogram after the trend of using Japanese Mon (symbols representing families or individuals) in the late Victorian period. During WWII, the family increased their wealth by working with the Germans during their French occupation. LVMH was formed in 1987, merging LV with Moet et Chandon and Hennessy to create a luxury goods conglomerate. LV continues to be one of the most valuable brands in the world.
This tribute includes pieces from LV Spring/Summer 2018 in the courtyard of the Louvre by Nicholas Ghesquière. The theme of this collection is time periods colliding.
